What is Tapping?

Tapping, EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique is a revolutionary healing and transformational modality based on ancient medical principles drawn from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), as well as the profound insights of modern Western psychotherapy. It’s further bolstered by incredible cutting-edge medical research about the body-mind connection.

Tapping is based on the premise that unresolved emotions can compromise our potential for happiness, by causing disruptions in the body’s subtle energy systems. These disruptions inhibit our natural ability to heal and can block us from successfully achieving our desired goals in many different areas of our lives.

Tapping or EFT is sometimes called “acupuncture without needles” and generates its results by balancing the body’s energy meridians while the person “tunes in” to either their problem or how they want to feel. In this way an important link is established between mind and body. It parallels acupuncture, except needles are not used. Instead, certain meridian points are stimulated by tapping with the fingertips while the person focuses on the issue they wish to resolve or how they’d like to feel.

A simple way to explain how the Tapping strategies work is to use the analogy of a circuit breaker in your kitchen. Once the circuit is over-powered you cannot turn the lights on or get the refrigerator to work until the circuit breaker has been reset. Tapping resets the circuits in a person’s body and mind.

Tapping works because it sends a calming signal to the Amygdala part of the brain, and it then turns off the stress response. This helps to calm anxiety and disruptions in the body’s physiological and energy systems.

By tuning into the problem and tapping on multiple acupuncture points, Tapping stimulates the energy meridians, sending pulses of energy down the channels that release the negative emotions that are blocking the energy flow in the channels.

This clears the conflicting beliefs that are keeping you from creating the vibrant, healthy, balanced abundant, successful and fulfilling life that we all were born to live!
